Office of Kink and Karma by Celia Kyle
Eric D’Amore is an Extraordinary. In a world that no longer worries about ethnicity, the extraordinaries and the normals are separated by personal bias similar to the age old race differences. Eric’s kink is the ability to spot a person’s soulmate, among other psy traits. After losing his soulmate, he sets himself up as a division of the Council in order to hook up the soulmate matches he finds and put his ability to good use.
His first client is Josh Martin who wants nothing to do with the Council demands until he sees Emily’s picture and agrees on the spot to take the case. Emily has grown up in a mixed heritage family and knows the sting of bigotry. When she sticks up for a young Animali Extraordinary who was being harassed by a Normal man, Josh steps in and keeps him from hitting Emily and finds himself falling for the feisty little fireball. Now he needs to convince the chestnut-haired beauty that they can make it work because there is no way he is going to give the case back to Eric now.
Case two finds Eric in a little bit of a tricky situation. At a wedding, he spies two males that are obviously soulmates. The problem is there is a third person with a lit up aura talking to the men. Could he possibly be wrong or can a person have more than one soulmate? Theo and Jackson have been a devoted couple for quite a while but when Eric approaches them with the information that they have another soulmate, they are shocked and intrigued at the possibilities. Lara is a Normal and has been secretly in love with her gay best friend forever. Her female best friend had just passed away and she had been leaning on Theo to console her when the Council told her she could not adopt her friend’s orphaned daughter because she was AE. The boys are both ready to try and bring both Lara and little Chrissy into their lives, but will Lara agree to their kink of having both of them, or is it truly her kink after all?
In case number three, Emily’s co-worker is ready to settle down. She is ready to give up her Domme status but not after one last weekend with a stranger she hired from an escort service. Josh’s best friend, Nathan, has wanted the little blonde vixen ever since he saw her at the wedding. When Eric tells him that she is a current case and he has been selected to be the operative for it, he jumps at the chance. His bear Animali is excited that she desires a strong man to dominate her. He can play the Dom if that is what her kink is. When Emily finds out about the escort service, she convinces Josh to take the stranger’s place and spend the weekend with her friend. Everything is going fine until they realize that there may be one to many Doms in the room and that they may have more than their kink in common.
Finally, Eric decides he is done with his little games and is going to close the department. His former lover has left and has suggested he hire her former assistant to help him out. Little does he know that Sam is not a man as he is lead to believe, and to top it all off, she may be more than a temporary secretary.
The Office of Kink and Karma was a sultry and erotic little romp. The four short stories of love and sensuality flowed into each other with brilliant little synopses’ of Eric’s many kinks. It was a very enjoyable and sexy read, sure to entice anyone to find their own soulmate.
