The Call by Jourdan Lane, B.A. Tortuga and Emily Veinglory
Three short novellas comprise this anthology of male werewolf lovers.
Instinct by Jourdan Lane takes part the same world as her Soul Mates series. Ethan has stayed away from his pack and his sire, Jake, since his last meeting with Jake left him beaten and bruised. He hides himself away, keeping to his construction business and away from the pack. Noah wants him to come and build a mega addition to his home and makes it clear that he wants more than hard labor from the hunky were. When Ethan’s past comes back and involves those from Noah’s pack in their deception, the two must escape and decide if they want to be together and where to start a new life.
In B.A. Toruga’s Son of a Bitch, Nate has left his pack because he is not the man or the wolf the pack needs to continue the bloodline. His preferences lead to more of the hunky man standing over his broken down MG that has offered to let spend the night in his little trailer. Things get complicated when members of the pack descend upon his trailer and suddenly his exile and sexual orientation is now a hot topic again.
Home Fires by Emily Veinglory is a quick tale of two mated wolves who have been separated for over a year. Houston left Jackson to find himself and prove his alpha status; unfortunately, he was captured and tortured by military factions. Jackson is not aware of the horrors his mate has suffered while away and is amazed that Houston has found him when he shows up on his doorstep near death. The two must find a way to fight the nightmares of a possible recapture that plague Houston.
The trio of stories are short and sexy reads that make it easy for the reader to visualize the carnal desires of these hot werewolves. They are explicit in their erotic nature and very smoking, although I found that they were too compressed in length to allow the reader to delve into the storyline as much as I would have enjoyed.
