We are introduced into the world of the Nobility through the eyes of Tamara Duncan. Tamara is the owner of The Treasure Trove, a small antiques shop in New Jersey. While searching an old estate, she encounters something that will change her life forever. Nicholai Valentin is a prince among his kind, the True Nobles. He has lived his life to serve his people, but that is put to the test when he meets Tamara Duncan.

Tamara and Nicholai must work together to stop a hidden evil and save the Nobles from complete destruction. The mystery of were Tamara comes from is just as important as who the villains in the story are. The story takes us from the shores of Jersey to the desert of Nevada and all the way to upstate New York.

The origins of the Nobles are introduced through flashback scenes woven throughout the novel. Scenes from the past are shown in a different font from those of the present.

For her debut novel, the author creates a world with characters that are easily relatable to the reader. I really liked the progression of Nicholai and Tamara. It is nice to an author create a new species that has not been seen before.
