Prey for the Wolf by Kari Thomas
Prey for the Wolf was a delicious novella that had it all: hot alphas males, hot beta males, secrets, a solid back ground, great plot, evil villains, and juicy scenes that teased the senses and leaving some to the imagination.
The story focuses on Bethany a double agent, albeit an unwilling one, for the Hunters who have taken her brother hostage and threatened her sister’s life. Ethan is her alleged fiancé and the Alpha, Kane, is the fiancé’s brother. Trust me, with this many connections and lies, the plot builds up to action pretty quickly.
Usually with short stories the authors have to figure out how to create enough “history” for the plot to work and flow. Many don’t do it well, and the readers are either thrown backwards with all the information given to them or left scratching their heads at connections that they couldn’t remember making. Kari Thomas, however, seamlessly tied in the past and present perfectly. I hope she continues her explorations of the Montana Wolf Shifter Pack as well as other packs.
