Mona Lisa Craving is the 5th book in the ongoing Monére, Children of the Moon series by national best selling author Sunny. It tells the story of Mona Lisa, who is the re-incarnate of Mona Lyra, and the eternally cursed Dante, who wants her to kill him and end his suffering.

In this storyline, Mona Lisa gets a much needed healer for her group, but it could be at a great price for everybody involved. The book also delves more into her desire for a child and her engagement to Lord Halcyon, the Demon Prince of Hell.

The greatest urge for the Monére is to create life, and it is not an easy thing for their queens to do. Will Mona Lisa finally get her wish? Will she make the crucial decision to end Dante’s life? All these questions and more are revealed in this installment.

The book has a lot of sex scenes that are well written and intriguing. The series is based on a shape shifting humanoid race that came to earth over 4,000 years ago, and is definitely erotic fantasy at its best. I am anxiously awaiting the next book, Mona Lisa Darkening, which is scheduled for release in January 2009.

Book Excerpt: “Dante, the warrior son of a healer, was cursed by the high priestess to endure a never-ending cycle of life and death, born and reborn into an ever-diminishing bloodline. Someone shares one of his past lives. Her name was Mona Lyra. Back then, on the moon in another world, she was his victim. Today, she is Mona Lisa, and this time, she is his savior. Dante’s wish is to die by her hands to end his cursed existence, but she feels fate has given them both a second chance. For even stronger than her craving for blood is her craving for what every Monére female desires, and needs…to bear life. Now she has found her mate-but with this blessing could come a new curse under the shadow of a new moon.”

Wait, this is the fifth book? I thought there were only two out before this and a couple of stories in a couple of anthologies?

Whew…so I haven’t missed any novels. Sweet. I’ve read the first two novels, but I haven’t gotten to the third one yet.

I’ve read one of the shorts, do I need to read the other one too?

I think so, each of the shorts adds to the building storyline. And the other stories in those anthologies are really great too. (IMHO). ;)
