Guarding Temptation by Chastity Bush
Tera’s always been a bit different, though others in the vampire world don’t really realize how different. Being a day walker has meant she is able to run her own business while enjoying the ordinary life that is denied most vampires. While walking home one day after work, she is attacked by a vicious rapist. Due to her differences, Tera is unable to fend for herself and screams fearing for her life. Miraculously, a stranger appears to save her life. This meeting will change Tera’s life forever.
Tera is very aware of her limitations as they are perceived by other vampires. This has clouded her entire life. Her trust in men was broken by her best friend and she finds it hard to trust again. After meeting Zeke, she wonders why he hasn’t contacted her and doubts herself further. Tera’s journey is helped by her strong will which helps her to realize she is worthy.
Zack is gorgeous as all guardians are but is a typical male and clueless when it comes to wooing the women who he knows is his intended mate. After hearing her terrified scream when attacked, he’s been unable to think of anything else other than protecting Tera. Zack is well written as the helpless male. lol
Guarding Temptation is a well written romance that just falls short by not quite grabbing my attention enough to finish in a night. I think it’s the slow start after the attention grabbing prologue. I can easily see this being a series, though, and would expect the writer to grow as she becomes more confident in her world and writing. Very enjoyable read.

This sounds like something to add to the TBR list.

This sounds like it could be really good. I kind of like the bumbling hero, when he’s entirely capable except when it comes to women. Because apparently, women are difficult, indecisive, and change their minds too often (or some such nonsense that otherwise means complicated).
