Healer’s Fate by Beth Caudill

Posted under Adult Content, Book Reviews, Shapeshifters, e-books by Emma D. on Thursday 24 December 2009 at 1:02 pm
****½

Corliss is about to be married and she’s dreading it. Unfortunately, due to being a Healer and her parents’ poor status in the pack, she doesn’t feel she can object. Luckily for Corliss, her intended doesn’t turn up and is replaced by the Alpha-in-waiting. While on their honeymoon, the reason for her lucky escape becomes apparent in ways that neither Corliss nor Liam expected.

From the start of this short story, it is apparent that Corliss has a back bone but up until now has not had a good enough reason to let others know this. Because this is a short story, we only get to see part of her growth, but I must admit to being entranced and wanting to hear more of Corliss and her world.

Liam is your typical Alpha male. Mine Mine Mine! This doesn’t actually change much, but to be fair, it doesn’t need to as this is a story about Corliss. Liam is the eye candy that a good story needs.

To me, this felt like a teaser - something to get you excited and wanting to read more about the world and characters. I really hope that Beth either turns this into a full length story or writes another one set in the same world. Sigh. In the meantime, I shall sit and wonder about what happens next.

hmm… this sounds very interesting. I like a good “mine, mine, mine!” book when it’s done well. It sounds like it was done well here. :) I’ll have to check it out.
