The Wolves’ Submissive by Ava Rose Johnson
Continuing the historical-fantasy saga from Beauty and the Beasts, The Wolves’ Submissive takes the heroine, Abigail, on a new ride through erotic territory with her two Alpha-male wolf lovers. Though mated to the twins in a supernatural ménage, they have yet to turn her into a werewolf. To become their equal paranormally, however, she has to become their sexual submissive, a thought both intimidating and exciting to the former princess. Problems arise for her when Caine, the more serious of the pair, refuses to give her the chance to prove herself…
This was a delicious ride back through the author’s world of shapeshifters and magic. Somewhere near-but-not-quite old Europe, the setting is interesting, and I almost wish she’d play more with it. There are hints of a sequel near the end of this one, and there are plenty of plot-threads to carry through to another book. I’d also like to see some more of how Abigail interacts with her “subjects”, as well as more about the political climate of the surrounding “world”.
The sex was hot and flavored with some kinkier elements than the predecessor, though I’d say it’s easily mild enough for some of the audience who might be dissuaded by the heavily D/s-oriented title. It’s a theme in the book, but a spicy entry into an interesting and sexy series.
