Beauty and the Beasts by Ava Rose Johnson
Abigail, a princess “tainted” with wolven blood and the resulting curse of having to mate with shapeshifters every month, has no idea that the wolf “servicing” her carnal needs is actually a pair of royal shapeshifters destined to take the throne as soon as they have a shared mate. Nor does she have any idea that they have their sights set on her until they kidnap her, taking her to their kingdom and capital. Even as she comes to care for her lovers, however, the problems are not yet over: war between the men and her father and fiancé seems unavoidable.
This was a nicely-developed novella with an interesting semi-historical/semi-fantastic setting. It leaves a lot of room for development in its sequel, but there is genuine emotional connection between the characters in the hundred-some pages of this book. I look forward to reading its successor, The Wolves’ Submissive, and recommend this to readers looking for a good paranormal ménage.
