Future Perfect is a collection of erotic, futuristic short stories that don’t fit into the mainstream idea of erotica. The themes vary from the end of the universe to Election Day to mer-gals and beyond. A very eclectic set of stories which are very much unlike in a lot of ways yet are held together by the common threads of lust, desire, and humor.

Circus! Circus! - A very short story about a sexual circus and its many acts. Something for every fetish, every desire, every need. So, what is yours? A cute but extremely short quickie that’ll make you laugh.

Event Horizon - What would you do if you knew the universe was collapsing in upon itself? Go out looking for one last hook-up, right? Be careful what you wish for, however, because the lover you find may not be anything like what you expect. An intense short story about the destruction of the Milky Way and life as we know it.

The Voting Booth - Election Day will never be the same after reading this enticing and sexy short which gives a whole new meaning to making the candidates earn your votes! So much political humor wrapped inside this that I couldn’t stop laughing.

The Messenger - One of the more serious stories in the collection, “The Messenger” is a battle between Gabriel, Michael and Satan. Two are protecting a young woman while the other, well, he’s just doing his usual job of twisting the facts and wrecking havoc. I love stories about the archangels and Lucifer, so this was right up my alley. One of my favorites in the collection.

A Fish Tale - A fun and inspiring story about overcoming your handicaps – both the physical and emotional ones. The topic is handled with both grace and humor. Oh, and lots of bad jokes as well. A really cute story showing love knows no bounds.

Skin - A bizarre little story about a man disillusioned with his by-the-hour lover. “Skin” took me quite by surprise, but I love that added element of the unexpected.

The Water Babies - A lonely woman finds her fate in the sea with two very handsome mermen. Trapped and controlled by her husband, Mariel is looking for an escape, any escape. She finds it with Dylan and Bryce. A rather sad story, much too close to our real world sometimes.

He Who Plants a Tree - Nature takes its revenge against an uncaring, sour soul who only wants to destroy instead of nurture and create. Rule number one: never mess with a dryad. Another one of my favorites for the revenge theme and the glorious torture the villain is exposed to.

To Birdman With Love - These are not your ordinary superheroes and villains. In a strangely erotic story, The Atomic Eagle is pitted against the Silver Panther in a sexual battle of wills. More than feathers will be flying in this odd little superhero short.

Gravity - “Life on the moon. Could life anywhere be any stranger?” Not for Luna and Gaea it couldn’t. In three short pages, the author cautions against the state of never being happy or content and just how disastrous that could be. Loved it.

The Honey Bee - A wholly new take on the story of the birds and the bees! The author takes the idea of the circle of life, the pollination of flowers, and turns it into an erotic male/male romp that you won’t believe.

Alienated - Intimacy is a many leveled thing: physical, emotional, spiritual and more. And it’s so very easy to alienate someone on any one of these levels. Joe Rose knows this all too well. However, with the help of the alien Kazen, he’s about to learn how to fix all those bridges he’s burned.

Girls Gone Wild - Two enterprising young pornographers think they’ve hit the motherload in Alaska. Boy, are they wrong. I did have to laugh during this story, however - just so funny to see the men becoming the victims for a change! Ahh, sweet revenge…

The Ice Cream Man Cometh - A new and inventive way to enjoy your ice cream…in the shape of a man! In a future where the ozone layer has evaporated and the sun will blister your skin right off your body, you take extra precautions and find new ways to cool off. I think I may need some of that ice cream now!

Husbands and Wives - In this story, we find a society backwards from our own in which the women are in power and the men are left to stay home. The men are the fragile flowers while the women are the strength of the nation. Davy travels to the Wedding Festival to find a rich wife for his family, to help save them from their debt. And in his search, he finds something more than he could have ever dreamed.

Future Perfect - He submits to her will. She dominates him completely. And when they come together, she has visions of the future. But where exactly do the visions come from? This is the longest and most intense story in the collection and well worth the read.

The Lonely Farmer - This anthology comes full circle, ending just as it began, with an extremely short but succinct story about the nature of life and love. I am utterly amazed at the story the author was able to tell in five short sentences.

While similar themes run through several of these stories, no two are even close to being the same. Helen E. Madden has a distinct talent for weaving humor and fun into the most intense and erotic situations which leave you with a totally new kind of story. I am definitely hooked. This collection of short stories is a must read for sure.

Really must have to check this out. Always keen to think outside the box on this subject. As far as my own erotic fiction goes, I’m always up for something different and not so mainstream just like this. Much better than the whole “I never usually happens to me, but this afternoon…” Playboy/penthouse forum type of beginning to a story.

“The difference between erotica and pornography is the lighting”
