Finally a chat I can participate in. lol That I have read AND is fresh in my mind because I DEVOURED it all last week.
1.) In this series we meet some very unique depictions of paranormal beings: scurf (vampires), weres, and demons. Which of these “races” do you most enjoy reading about in the series?
I like reading about the cat shifters, it seems like she focuses on them the most, which isn’t surprising because of her partner Saul. But the other unique group are the bird shifters and the brief mentions of them. I truly hope we get to hear more of their story in future books.
2.) How do you like Jill as a main character?
I like Jill, though she really pissed me off in this last book. She is really it is my way or the highway and tends to go off half cocked and not let her support network “work” for her. Which ends up getting her and other people hurt. I do *get* why she may have acted this way in regards to relationship stuff, but it was pretty juvinille. She’s growing as a character on some levels. I hope she gets better at relationships. She’s lucky to have Saul.
3.) Who are some of your favorite secondary characters?
Of course I like Saul. And believe it or not I like Pericles. I don’t know why but I always think of testicles when I read his name like that. LOL like Pair of testicles Pericles. Anyways… moving right along. I think that Perry, for better or worse is evolving whether he wants to or not. He’s a bastard, but I think he really loves Jill in his own way and has been changed and will continue to do so over the course of time. Of course he’s a demon so I can be completely wrong.
On another topic, does anybody know how many more books there will be in the series?
[Reply]
I’m about halfway throug Redemption Alley. Love this series.
1)My favorite paranormal beings in the series are the Weres. I like how each species of Were has different characteristics that fit in with thier animal.
2)I have mixed feelings about Jill. She doesn’t take anything from anyone and does what has to be done. But then she doesn’t always listen to anyone else and jumps into situations without thinking things through first and people get hurt.
3)My favorite secondary characters are Saul and Theron.
Her website doesn’t list any books past Flesh Circus but it doesn’t say the series is finished so I hope there will be more. Lilith’s website says she’s not writing any more Dante Valentine books so she can concentrate on the Kismit and Strange Angels series.

2.) How Do You Like Jill As A Main Character?
I Have Not Read This Series As I Have Said But Jill Sounds Determined. I HAve To Respect Someone Who Dosen’t Who Knows What They Want And Won’t Have It Any Other Way.
3.) Who Are Some Of Your Favorite Secondary Characters?
I Wanna Know More About Saul And Pericles. They Have Sparked My Interest.

[...] Mr. Potato Head. Lauren Leto’s screamingly funny Readers By Author. And Bitten By Books is discussing the Jill Kismet series [...]
I’ve seen these books around for awhile now and have wanted to pick them up. My hubby has suspended all adding to my TBR pile until after Christmas. I should probably just read the ones on my TBR pile and then I can get more. Sounds like a really good series though so I will add them in January.
The only thing I want from Barnes and Noble or Amazon right now is a Nook or Kindle2. I would trade 3 gifts for just one of those.
Visited both chats today.

1. Though I’m fonder of the Were *characters* in the book, I find the concept of the hellbreed most interesting because she goes into it in more depth and it feels more vivid and complicated.
2. Jill is wonderful! Wounded and fierce and deadly, protective and skilled, full of gallows’ humour and bravery–a balance of vulnerable and walled-off by necessity.
3. I love Galina, in all her bossy, deceptively badass, ancient and pure-good glory.

Haven’t read. 2. Heading over now. 3. Blood Ties, True Blood and Terminator season 2 dvds. Diana Laurence’s “How to Catch and Keep a Vampire”, LKH’s “Skin Trade” and “The Basics of Corset Building”.

#1 answers to questions and my comments and or questions:
1.) In this series we meet some very unique depictions of paranormal beings: scurf (vampires), weres, and demons. Which of these “races” do you most enjoy reading about in the series? I am learning lots more in this series about those nasty bad Demons and find it quite enjoyable, entertaining and informative from Jill’s point of view…
2.) How do you like Jill as a main character? Jill like Dante Valentine is flawed, but although flawed very realistic about making the best with what she is and finding out what she can be. The best part of the series has been watching her grow in each book and become more open to allowing herself to “feel”…
3.) Who are some of your favorite secondary characters? Have to say my favorite 2ndry character is of course Jill’s love interest Saul and after that am going to say that even as twisted and evil as he is my other favorite is Pericles because so far he has surprised Jill at every turn no matter how much she has provoked the Demon….
Not sure how many books there will be after “Flesh Circus” but know from the back end of the book next one is named “Heavens Spite” and not sure of release date but am anticipating it …..
