After slayer Damon Phillips finds out he is dying of cancer, he approaches vampire Belle DeLuc. He wants to plunge something inside her, but it isn’t a wooden stake. A month ago he tracked her down and was unable to kill her after seeing her beautiful, naked body at rest. Now that he has her, he’s second guessing his decision. Cancer is one hell of a way to go, but becoming a vampire may not be a much better choice.

Belle DeLuc hasn’t drained a human in centuries but she may make an exception for Damon. He stimulates her mentally and physically and eases the ache of loneliness that lives inside her. But Damon has a deadly secret that, one way or another, could end Belle’s loneliness - permanently.

From the first page, I fell in love with Two Hot by Riley Ashford. The author didn’t waste any time allowing her characters to fall into bed—or the sand, as it were—in an erotic tumble of desire and feeling that made it easy to give the story 3 tombstones. After the beach scene, though, the story took a bizarre turn, the least of which being Belle’s amazing transformation from a brunette to a blonde.

I understand the need for conflict to keep the story going, but Damon’s anger and the way he hurt Belle came out of nowhere, leaving me confused and a little angry. Granted, his reason ended up being a noble one, but Belle’s acceptance of it was too quick and seemed to be almost forced.

Then there was the threesome. It took me completely by surprise. So much so that I found myself skimming through the previous paragraphs to make sure I hadn’t missed something.
