Turning Paige by Melissa Schroeder

Nice and proper Paige Turner has been having vivid erotic dreams that cause her to lose much needed sleep and leave her sexually aroused (and frustrated) most of the time. The thing is, she, a librarian, is not an overly sexual person. No, not at all. And it is certainly not her uptight, unreliable fiancé she dreams about. She just wishes her dreams were real, especially the man in it.

Paige did not exactly heed the saying, “Be careful what you wish for; sometimes they might just come true.” After dropping by The Sweet Shoppe for Irish truffles, she wakes up in the morning in the arms of her dream lover, Seamus. He is the kind of man any woman would probably dream about.

Except, Paige does not really recognize Seamus. Who in their right mind would believe a man from their dreams would just materialize? It definitely is too much for the realist Paige to take, especially when he insists possessively that they are soul mates and that he comes from a different time. She thinks he is crazy but cannot help falling for him - after all, sex with him is phenomenal. However, all good feelings and great sex aside, her life becomes pretty chaotic when he enters it.

“Turning Paige” is an enjoyable read. Finding a soul mate, especially when a character is stuck with a good-for-nothing partner, touches our hearts. Seamus is definitely a much better match for Paige than her fiancé. The only thing I did not like about this novella is that Seamus’s character is not believable. He does not act like a warrior from his own time. Besides, how can he know modern American English if he really comes from his time? Putting that aside, I am pretty sure the readers will find this a relaxing-after-a-hard-day kind of novella.
