    top five tv shows?

House is my number one - he’s such a snarky SOB and i love how good the writing is on the show. cannot live without it.

Supernatural comes in at number two, do i have to explain how awesome it is?? :)

Doctor Who, because it’s just freaking awesome! going to miss David Tennant when he ends his run as the 10th Doctor.

Lie To Me - this show is very intellectually stimulating and so much different than anything i’ve ever watched. and so interesting to see that you can tell if someone is lying just by watching their face!

Top Gear - this i have to download from England for the time being but my fiance got me into it. you learn alot about cars and what is good and what isn’t, plus they always have awesome challenges that make you laugh!

my guilty pleasure is probably watching Nickelodeon cartoons. it keeps me feeling young and some of them, like the Penguins of Madagascar, are hilarious! :)

i voted in the vampires assistant contest, voted for two more authors in the poll, Claudia Gray and Chloe Neill. :)

    Top five shows:

    1. NCIS - Gibbs and Abby…what’s not to like?
    2. Bones - Booth. ‘Nuff said.
    3. True Blood - Self explanatory
    4. CSI - A bit more realistic than CSI: Miami and I don’t have to put up
    with David Caruso. LOL
    5. CSI: NY - Gary Sinese

    Voted in Round 3
    Guilty pleasure….hmmm…probably smut books. ;-)

  3. Comment by fallon hadley — October 12, 2009 @ 10:07 am

I’m afraid I only get to watch cartoons these days, as I have a little guy that steals the tv. Not much I get to watch. I can only think of 2 shows that I sometimes get to see. NCIS and Bones. I love both because Gibbs from NCIS is always right and Bones just kills me with her one track mind.

My guilty pleasure is a trip to any coffee spot. Not really a secret, but it’s the only “me” time I get every now and then.

    Steps, 3, 4, and 5 are done.

    Thanks,
    Fallon H

  5. Comment by Mindy Stone — October 12, 2009 @ 10:09 am

My 5 fav shows are: NCIS, Burn Notice, Criminal Minds, Masterpiece Mystery (Inspector Lewis), and No Reservations. The first three I watch for the action and crime novelty. I guess Masterpiece Mystery falls into that category and I love the British aspect of the crime solving. As for No Reservations, I just love Anthony Bourdain’s snark and love of food. I’m jealous of all the wonderful places he gets to visit and the delicious food.

My guilty pleasure if no secret to anyone who knows me well. It is writing paranormal book. I do this whenever I have free time I jump on my computer and bang out a few pages. Whenever, I’m not reading, that is…

I voted in this weeks poll too. =)

I voted on both The Vampire’s Assistant and the FPAY round 3!

  29. Comment by Heather C — October 12, 2009 @ 12:25 pm

1 - Santuary - Love the paranormal aspect of the show. Well written and cool creatures
2 - Vampire Diaries - Hmmm…why this show…oh yeah, I like vampires. :) I was worried it would be too teenagery for me, but I’m totally hooked.
3 - Ace of Cakes - Duff and the gang are too funny, and their work is amazing
4 - NCIS - Great mix of characters, good suspense
5 - Criminal Minds - A little scary, but always interesting. Its a picture into the warped human mind

Also - shout out to the fabulous Warehouse 13. Loved it!!! I so want to walk through the warehouse just to see what kind of cool stuff they have.

2 - Guilty pleasure - Watching terrible Sci-fi channel movies. The less stars the better. This is a tradition my Dad & I started…great for a Saturday afternoon. I also Love my 80s cartoons: GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man

5 = i’m off to vote right now for Chloe Neill and Mary Janice Davidson.

  30. Comment by Lisa — October 12, 2009 @ 12:26 pm

NCIS Abby and Gibbs. Bones, Booth or Angel woohoo! Fringe great storyline about parelle universes. Jay Leno ..Enough said. But I have to add Sanctuary, best sci/fi show. My guilty pleasure is sun bathing in the nude. I know it’s bad for you but I still do it once in a while!!!

  31. Comment by crystal adkins — October 12, 2009 @ 12:29 pm

    1. Scare Tactics- because it is just hilarious!
    2. Ghost Hunters- I am waiting to see an aparition, but also it’s just neat to watch them hunt!
    3. Vampire Diaries- because I’m a vampire addict.
    4. Tool Academy- it makes me appreciate my hubby. The guys on the show are jerks for sure!!
    5. Bridezillas- It’s just amazing that some women can be such monsters on their wedding days :) it’s funny!

My guilty pleasure is sneaking in Fast food while hubby is at work. It’s so easy sometimes to just run out to McDonalds or Wendy’s if me and the little one are already out doing errands and he doesn’t have to know about it :) not that he would care. But he lets me stay home with our son and the little one we have on the way, while he works all day outside with just the lunch I packed him. So I feel guilty for that, but it’s such a pleasure to eat! And I do have dinner ready every day for him when he gets home and we all eat together like normal… he doesn’t need to know about my fast food addiction LOL!

Voted #4 for I have awesome vampire powers

    Voted in the FPAY’s

Please don’t enter me for the Heretic’s Daughter, I’ve already got that one :)

    Thanks!!
    Crystal Adkins

Oh my goodness… 5 shows huh
    1. Fairly Odd Parents (cartoon) I’m addicted to how silly it is! It’s just so weird and fun that it makes me smile.

    2. iCarly - More kids shows… It’s oddly annoying and quite weird but the characters are fun to watch and I’m rooting for Freddie!

    3. Gossip Girl - My sisters got me hooked… damnit

    4. House - He’s amazing and psycho, need I say more?

    5. Drop Dead Diva - I love the storyline and I’m rooting for Jane to find love from the one made for her–even if he was technically in love with her soul, not her. Does that make sense? LOL…and you gotta love her assistant ^_~

My one guilty pleasure I’ll share here is that I love to watch kids shows–they’re ridiculous and frivilous but ohsomuch fun from reality TV and all the random *beep* shows out there right now *sigh*

Top 5 television shows, in no particular order:

Supernatural–been watching since season 1, what’s not to love about 2 hot guys dealing with supernatural occurrences? There are a lot of legends and lore that are fascinating, I even learn some new ones!

Vampire Diaries–read the books when I was in 7th grade, so they were already 10 years old, loving the new ones btw! The show is different than the novel, but still good. Really like it so far.

True Blood–yup, more vampires, more shows based on books. Of course I don’t own HBO so I have to wait for the DVD but I really did enjoy season 1 despite its differences and the sex overload HBO did to it, but then again they are HBO.

Psych–a very funny show imo. Shawn is just plain funny, he comes up with these almost random comments that either contribute to the topic at hand or don’t, but they’re just so funny. Plus he fakes being a psychic detective and his friend Gus is always the butt of some scheme and Lassader gets picked on a lot for being kind of mean. And yeah, basically just a really funny show.

Monk–another detective show, in its final season now. He is an OCD detective. Really likes things neat and all that. He can be annoying, but it’s funny, his overall attitude and stuff like that is funny. Plus I hope in this final season he solves his wife’s murder that he had been trying to solve in earlier seasons but never could.

Secret obsession? Hmm….not really. Sorry! My obsessions are known, if that helps. ;)

Going to do my vote for paranormal authors round 3 right now!

House , cause he can be such an ass.
So You Think You Can Dance, love to watch these gifted people, sometimes it’s hard to believe real people can do some of those moves.
Bones, love all the characters and plots. I hope Angela and Hodgins get back together. They just have to bring Zak back! Great fun show.
    Fringe, sci-fi paranormal.
    Sanctuary, sci-fi paranormal
    Guilty pleasure, M & Ms

    Did 3, 4 & 5

Top five shows I am watching and why? Easily done.

Heroes - I loves me some superhero action.
How I Met Your Mother - NPH, ’nuff said?
Big Bang Theory - I am a geek. I have to support my peeps. ;)
Two and a Half Men - Funny as hell.
Castle - A snarky writer with the timing and delivery of Nathan Fillion? What’s not to like?

Guilty Pleasures? Zombie movies. Not that I am hiding my love of the zombie culture, but they do tend to gross out my wife. She also gets a tad embarrassed if I laugh at “inappropriate” moments in the movie. ;)

My 5 favorite shows—do I have five? I might have to cheat and pick some that are in reruns or are between seasons:
    1. Dollhouse
    2. Glee
    3. Dr. Who (like the first poster, I’ll be sad when David Tennant leaves)
    4. Torchwood
    5. Ummm—it might be one of the new ones, Flash Forward or Stargate Universe. I haven’t seen enough episodes to tell!
My guilty pleasure? Maybe reading YA novels? Paranormal romance? Eating junk food? Although really I don’t try to hide any of those things!

Disregard the previous post. My mouse is acting up.

    1. Favorite Shows: 1. Castle — funny, suspenseful, sexy, and it’s about a writer.
    2. Dollhouse — Dushku is awesome, and wish she’d do more to keep her in the spotlight.
    3. Vampire Diaries — It’s such a welcome relief to see a dark vampire series after all the hubbub over the airy fairy Twilight hype (and then Buffy staked Edward. The End)
    4. Eastwick — I was dreading this series, but it’s turning out to be better than I expected. Witches. Need I say more.
    5. Being Human — The too-short first season of this British series about a Ghost, Werewolf, and Vampire trying to blend into the human world knocked my socks off. It has great character development, and the powerhouse finale left me wanting more (and they are working on Season 2).

    2. Guilty pleasure would have to be Dancing with the Stars. I love this show and never miss an episode (but you didn’t hear me say that).

    1) I don’t even own a tv. I do make sure to be around one for Steelers football though.

    2) Not so much a guilty pleasure but my biggest none the less. My hoard, my books. I not so recently moved from FL to AZ and over half the U-Haul I drove back was my books. I cannot even unpack most of them still because I am having difficulty finding big enough book shelves for my new house. Even when I was a kid my family said they never had to worry about me doing anything else because I was addicted to books.

    1. I don’t have FIVE favorite shows, because I just don’t watch that much TV. I like reading better :)
The only show I currently even see on a regular basis is Ghost Hunters. I sometimes watch History Detectives on PBS if I remember when it’s on. Been thinking about picking up the first seasons of Fringe and Supernatural, to see if I like them, but currently I’m too busy for that. I’ve already missed the start of Stargate Universe.

    2. I have no secret guilty pleasure…everyone knows I’m a chocoholic. (Although apparently I have what other people consider a weird taste for licorice. I always get black jelly beans around Easter.)

Chuck - I have a weak spot for adorable nerdy types. Plus the whole spy element is awesome too
Dexter - What’s not to love about a serial killer who murders murderers? Plus Michael C. Hall has lovely eyes. :)

My favorite shows are True Blood (well, that’s obvious!), Weeds (It’s so funny and jaw-dropping all at once), Bones (I adore TJ Thyne and the show is always interesting, even if it is formulaic), So You Think You Can Dance (Hey, it’s awesome dancing! And I love watching people just throw themselves into their dreams. It’s always great to watch people do things they love), and Mad Men (this is a fantastic show. I used to do theater with one of the main actors and have always been a fan and followed his career. I get a kick out of seeing him do something so well-received. (hint: he worked with david Boreanaz, too, for a little 6-degrees thing))

My guilty pleasure is availing myself of all things Alexander Skarsgård. I adore him in a probably unnatural yet completely natural way. He’s the ONLY one on my “list”, if you know what I mean. Even Johnny Depp got the boot and he’s been on there forever. Never been so head over heels for an actor before- I’m like a giddy schoolgirl sometimes.

I have done the rest or will as soon as I click off here. Thanks!

This is really hard to choose for me, so I’m just gonna list the first 5 that come to mind instead of picking my fav 5, cus they’re all favs!
    1. Supernatural, cus hello! Sexy supernatural slayers! What’s not to love? Lol. I also love Supernatural cus I love the whole paranormal world.
    2. The Big Band Theory, cus it’s hilarious as! Gotta love Sheldon!
    3. NCIS - but only the original, not the one with chris o’donnell (gag), cus I love Mark Harmons’ acting and cus I love cop shows too.
    4. Smallville, cus I’ve always liked superman, and I’ve watched Smallville since I was young and it began, so I love it.
    5. ER, cus I used to watch grey’s anatomy and then started watching ER and dropped grey’s like a hot-cake cus it just suddenly stopped appealing to me lol.

Here’s a really old show that I love 21 Jump Street starring Johnny Depp. Love him!

Guilty pleasure? Ever since I started reading I’ve wanted, or rather want, to become a vampire. Shoot me! I know that it ain’t original, but vampires are damn sexy fine asses lol.

    1. Damages - Glenn Close is amazing, Lost - Because I have to figure out what’s going on, FlashForward - It’s unique and science-fictiony, Stargate Universe-Reminds me a bit of BSG and I have always been a stargate fan, Sactuary-ok, it’s a bit cheesy, but I love the subject matter, TrueBlood-Is an explanation really needed?, and I have to add a fifth because I love Vampire Diaries (or maybe I should put this down for my guilty pleasure).

    2. This might be along the same theme as the tv series question above, but no one… except immediate family (not including my sister) knows I watch Dancing with the Stars every week. One of these weeks, I might even vote. *laughs*

    1. Wow, I’m not actually watching five TV shows right now, but I’ll try to make this work.
    #1: Castle
#2: Chuck (which returns in March! — can’t wait)
#3: The Guild (a Web cast, but it counts, right?)
    #4: Mythbusters
#5: Watching my DVDs of either The Middleman or Firefly

    2. I don’t think I actually have a guilty pleasure — certainly not a secret one! The pleasure my husband teases me for the most is reading romance novels. :)

Gah! I forgot to say why I liked the TV shows.

1a: Castle, because I love what the showrunners are doing with comparing the writing process to solving murder mysteries. I also love the banter between Fillion and Katic, and think the cast is doing a great job selling the characters.
1b: I miss Chuck so much — the season finale last year was jaw dropping! It’s good spy fun — lots of funny, but also lots of heart. Again, stellar cast: Levi, Baldwin, and Strahovski have great team chemistry.
1c: Wow, does anyone need a reason to love Mythbusters? Explosions! Science! Humor! It’s a great show.
1d: I just found The Guild after “Do You Wanna Date My Avatar” was released, and it’s a great, quick show — episodes are usually between five and eight minutes. The format is really exciting, and Felicia Day plays an awesome gamer geek.
1e: The Middleman and Firefly were both cancelled before their time, and if there were new episodes, both would make my currently-watching list. Great writing, great acting, great concepts.

    Five shows I’m watching lately:
    1. Heroes mostly it’s because I care about the characters and I can’t wait to see what they are confronted with.
    2. Vampire Diaries- I read those books as a kid and wanted to see them in live action, I’m more than pleased.
    3. Castle- what’s not to love
    4. Sanctuary- it started out rough but now it’s pretty good
    5. Stargate Universe. It’s not bad so far I’m pretty sure it will get better.

Guilty pleasure? Oh where to begin. That would be the whole month of October. I’m loving all the cool movies they are playing on Chiller and Scyfy and many other channels and I’m really looking forward to The Vampires Assistant. I hadn’t heard of the stories until they started playing teasers.

    1.
-True Blood - I’ve been a fan of the book series for years and just fell in love with them again.

-Grey’s Anatomy - The only medical show I’ll can actually get into…and just love looking at McSteamy.

-Firefly - I know this is canceled but I watch the dvd’s I have of them on repeat way too much.

-Sons Of Anarchy - Sexy guy with a motorcycle…what’s not to get.

    - Modern Family - A hilarous comedy about a dysfunctional family.

    2. My guilty pleasure is saving up a bunch of money and then instead of buying something I need I end up buying more books…and pretty soon new bookshelves.

  104. Comment by Karin T — October 13, 2009 @ 9:35 am

    Here are my favorite shows:
    Cities of the Underworld
    Clash of the Gods
    Ace of Cakes
    House
    NCIS

I don’t know if I have a guilty pleasure that my family doesn’t know about. They all know about my addiction to books, especially romance, and my love of volleyball in all forms. So, if I have a guilty pleasure they don’t know about, perhaps it would be my secret stash of Reese’s pieces (even though they know it’s my favorite candy).

I have voted in both places! :)

Bones - My hubby is so addicted, I’ve kinda caught on too.
Army Wives - Not quite as real as it should be, but still good.
Ghost Whisperer/Medium - I like them both, though they are very different.
