Hunting Memories by Barb Hendee
After surviving their last encounter with Julian, Eleisha dreams of finding other vampires in hiding, creating a haven for them, teaching these vampires how to feed without killing and how to live peaceably among the humans. Philip and Wade are unsure of her plan but agree to help and follow Eleisha when she suggests they return to Portland, Oregon. She suggests they establish their base of operations there in an old church with thick walls. Eleisha also tells them she has been in contact with a woman named Rose who has expressed similar interests and who has invited them to visit her in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, Julian broods in his family’s manor house in Wales, unsure of what Eleisha’s next move, afraid she is coming after him. He enlists the help of a recently-deceased young woman to find Eleisha and keep tabs on her so he can be informed of her movements. When Julian learns Eleisha has gone to San Francisco and reconnected with another vampire, he becomes scared she will learn of the old rules and realize he does not follow them - a reason to come after him which is something he can’t have happen. Julian goes to San Francisco to deal with Eleisha but, when he learns of her plan to seek out more vampires, Julian decides he can use her to find these vampires so he can kill them, too.
In the second installment of her series, Barb has brought us a fantastic read. I was thrilled to see how she moved the storyline along and brought in the new characters. Barb’s characters are compassionate and quirky. We are allowed to see their inner workings, their good points as well as their bad and begin to understand their inner workings. I will definitely be waiting for the next installment.

It is actually a very good series. I was really sad by a few things in this installment, but am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Have you read her Noble Dead series? I haven’t and am wondering about that.
