Wow this is so hard to choose from.
I picked Jocelynn Drake and Karen Marie Moning.

I love Jeaniene Frose and Karen Chance and Christine Feehan as well. There are just too many to choose from. I feel like I’m betraying all my favorite authors by only picking two :(

    For next week I pick
    Jessica Andersen
    Christina Dodd
    MaryJanice Davidson
    Alyssa Day
    Anne Rice

  4. Comment by Doniki B. — October 5, 2009 @ 1:22 am

Rough going having to choose only two. I chose Patricia Briggs & Karen Marie Moning. The Mercy Thompson series is so compelling from the first chapter. Karen Marie Moning’s last work turned a series from great to EPIC.

For next week’s poll, how about
    Simon R. Green
    Diana Gabaldon
    Melissa Mar
    Jenna Black

    Hey Rachel,
It’s definitely a toughie to choose just two for the polls…
Here are a couple of authors who I think who’d be ideal for next week’s polls :
    *Kari Thomas

Oh god this round is soooooooooooo much more difficult. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many of my favorite authors!!! Agh! What a dilemma! Since there are soooooo many authors like 12-13 that I wanted to vote for I just went with some of my earlier ones that I started with and that was Kelley Armstrong and I guess a more recent Jeaniene Frost. This was by far the harder round to vote for. And I thought last week was bad! ;)

  21. Comment by Amy — October 5, 2009 @ 5:44 am

  45. Comment by Jackie Burris — October 5, 2009 @ 7:56 am

You are really amping this up a notch this week, harder to pick only 2 because own multiple books by almost every author on the list….
I finally narrowed it down and chose the 2 who in the last year for me have stood out and captured my loyalty to their book series and they are Karen Marie Moning and Jeaniene Frost.
Do not have any other suggestions to add to your list that we all gave you as there are many good authors on it both current day and some who have wowed us for years….
this is fun and good luck to us all, swag is wonderful but reading how much others love books the way I do is even better…..

  46. Comment by jessica cochrane — October 5, 2009 @ 7:58 am

    They’re both amazing people.
Also, the only people who’s books I have that are signed by them.
(Okay, with JRardin it’s only **one** book, but still.. It’s personalized and I do live in AUS where nothing ever happens ((except for that time when RMead came down here…)) so to me it meant a lot!)
    (: ♥

Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty series belies the stereotypical everything-works-out happy endings. Sometimes life isn’t fair, and neither is Kitty’s life. But enough good things work out for her to keep plugging on. Enough to remind us to watch for the good things in our lives and to keep plugging on.

  190. Comment by E.A.V. — October 6, 2009 @ 10:13 am

    I vote for:

CARRIE VAUGHN — Her Kitty Norville series are in no way fluffy. Her character doesn’t have many physical strengths in comparison to her foes nor does she have any magical tallents. Her strengths come from the understanding of herself and her world that grows throughout the series. These books explore a truly amazing character development of a heroine with amazing and developing internal strength. PLEASE GIVE ALL MY TEN VOTES TO CARRIE VAUGHN!!!

CHARLAINE HARRIS (of the top two) — I like her Harper Connelly series. I’ve no idea why bookstores put this series in Mystery. I mean, Harper is finding dead people through the use of a paranormal power from being struck by lightning!

  191. Comment by Cynthia Netherton — October 6, 2009 @ 10:22 am
