Jens is one of those fortunate men who can fit effortlessly into any situation. He arrives through the tunnel and wanders about the party, until he notices Erin chatting with her friend. Their eyes meet, and Erin looks down, feeling both confusion and an instant attraction. When she looks up again, he has disappeared.

Disappointed, Erin leaves the suddenly stuffy room to find he is following her. They adjourn to the library, where Jens shows Erin the tunnel and invites her to his home. They spend a beautiful night together, but when Jens explains how the tunnel works, Erin is disbelieving. Though she believes she has truly found her soul mate, the story he is telling is too strange to be real. Is it possible that two completely separate worlds are linked through a simple tunnel?

I enjoyed this short story. Jens and Erin were likeable and realistic, and I appreciated that Jens’s world was one in which Erin could be accepted easily without any strange alien rituals. I would recommend this story to true romantics who love a happy ending.
