Nylu is pregnant and on the run in the Dark Forest from Maida warrior women. She is close to giving birth to a boy, and if she stayed with the colony, the child would be taken from her and enslaved, as are all males. Nylu didn’t want to get pregnant but was overcome by the Maida fertility curse. When a Maida woman becomes fertile, she has to have sex with a fertile male or she’ll go insane. And, as horrifying, the male dies painfully after climax.

Nylu begins labor and collapses. She is bleeding out badly, and she and her baby are in danger of death. She is found by a band of rogue Maida males who have escaped from confinement. Although she is nursed back to health by Celt and Dirk (the leader and his best friend), the child dies. She stays with the band to recover, but the fertility curse comes on her again. Celt and Dirk hope that by giving her pleasure and helping her to release, they can save her sanity without losing their own lives. But saving Nylu is not the only problem: the band must keep moving to avoid Maida warriors and come to terms with the Guardians of the Dark Forest. War erupts between the Maida and the Guardians, and only a great sacrifice will stop it and save both the Maida and the Guardians from the wrath of Mother Nature.

Love Me Strong is written in a simplistic style with the obligatory simplistic happy ending. World-building takes a delicate hand, and unfortunately, the author chose a ham-fisted approach to create a shell rather than build a structure. The book is full of characters, but none are explored. There is war and misery, but none is explained. The sex between the three main characters is more mechanical than passionate, but there is a lot of it.
