Original Sin by Tracey H. Kitts
Taking place shortly after laws of vampiric tolerance had been put in place, Lilith Mercury has found more than enough on her plate. She has recently come into her own wizard powers, gifted from her great-great-grandfather, has some vampiric abilities as a seducer and, after a brutal attack, although not a were, carries the lycanthrope strain in her blood. As an active partner with the first vampire, Dracula, she upholds the new laws protecting the vampires and weres. Her boyfriend, Marco, is the Alpha of the local pack, her first love, Peter, has come back to town and has been turned, Johnny, another former boyfriend is back and staying with her as a hired gun and assassin against rogues, and her police officer best friend, Ethan, is hanging around, too. Add to this a former challenger to her boyfriend’s Kingdom that she has trouble keeping her hands off of, a wizard who lives in her basement, a cross dressing vampire who lives close by, a former school buddy who stays with her often, a wereleopard and you have the confusing life of Lilith.
Lilith only wants to be with her boyfriend, but with all the men in her life, finding time to be intimate with the Alpha is getting harder to do. When there is a brutal attack on her best friend by someone she had given her heart to long ago, all of the men in her life battle to address the grievance and protect her. Lilith finds herself pulled in many directions with so many men vying for a part of her. Friendship, love, desire, lust, and just plain bodily contact that lycanthropes need demand her attention as she copes with the aftermath of the horrific attack.
Lilith is not a weak woman and, when her partner is horribly disfigured by holy water, she gives in to her anger and gives back in kind what he had done to her best friend, Ethan. Lilith holds herself back from the killing blow only due to the formal challenge for pack Alpha which would have undermined Marco’s status as King. When the final battle for dominance is upon them, it is Lilith’s bond with her men that allow them the upper hand in stopping the challenger and his followers and gives her closure with her former love and now enemy.
This book was very humorous and portrayed a truly remarkable woman who was strong, capable and sexy as she dealt with all the changes in her life since her attack: the powers that she has yet to control or learn, her seducer abilities that called to so many of the men in her life and the lycanthrope virus that has her needing physical touch. My main problem with the book was that she had way too many men to keep track of. It was a bit confusing with so many to keep straight, and who wouldn’t feel a bit jealous that this woman got to have so many men in her life that want to keep her safe and strong? The dialogue was very quick and witty and it had several LOL moments including my one of my favorites from Johnny: “No, darling, I walk on toilet paper, cause I’m the shit.” The other one you will just have to read the book to find out!

LOL That’s one of my favorite lines too, glad you enjoyed it. Johnny is a smart ass and it’s always fun to write what he has to say:)
