Kensington’s Soul by Faith V. Smith

****

Detective Zacke Kensington of the Savannah, Georgia Police Department is a man committed to fighting evil and protecting the innocent. He’s been such a man since the 1600’s when he was Lord Kensington of the English nobility. Unfortunately, he dallied with the wrong woman, Gabriella, and when he spurned her, she made him pay for all eternity. Despite his horror and revulsion, when he rose from the grave he swore to protect the innocents of the world against mortal and immortal evil.

Dr. Miranda James found herself in a desolate part of Savannah with a flat tire and a drained cell phone while on her way to orientation as the new Trauma Surgeon at Savannah General. A bad situation gets worse when she attacked by two men. Zacke, flying overhead and stops the attack, and a tenuous relationship begins between them. But evil will always try and overshadow love. Gabriella returns to try and win Zacke’s love, and when unsuccessful, she will take any measures to cause him pain. Gabriella must be stopped and Miranda protected – at any cost. Zacke, Gideon (his human police partner), and Miles and Hugh (two immortal friends) are prepared to pay the price.

Kensington’s Soul is an uplifting story of good versus evil. Zacke must do the seemingly impossible: save his loved ones, stop evil and reclaim his soul. He held true to his nobility and faith through all the dark years and, in the end, is rewarded. Laughter, brotherhood, love, hope and fascinating characters abound in the book. Kensington’s Soul is the first book in the series Bound By Blood, The Legends. I’m looking forward to the next one!
