What Are You Waiting For? August Book Poll!

Posted under Contests, Polls, Site News by Site Hostess on Monday 10 August 2009 at 8:31 pm
*****

Welcome to the poll of the week!! First a HUGE congratulations goes out to our favorite zombie pimp daddy Mark Henry for winning last week’s poll of Funniest Paranormal Author! Thanks to everybody who came out and supported your favorites and made the poll so much fun!!!

Each week we will have a new poll for you to vote in. Typically there will be primaries over the weekends for the most part. Though if time is pressing for me or there is some other nefarious reason, I reserve the right to pick the topic for the week. Which I have done again this week.

This is our official POLL post. Polling runs through Friday 8/14/09 at or around 10:00 pm CDT. You can come here to tell us which paranormal book releases you are looking forward to purchasing/reading in August. DO NOT CRY if I didn’t get your title up. There is only so much room for poll answers and I stretched it WAY beyond what I am supposed to. You can pick THREE titles this month. And of course you can  comment as MUCH as you like. We want to hear from AUTHORS AND READERS alike! Remember to VOTE over on the right hand side of the site. Choose wisely you only get one vote!

While you are here be SURE to check out all of the other events/contests going on by clicking here! Something new every single day! Do you like our site? Would you like to see more contests and cool stuff? Please consider a purchase in our Bloody Cafe store here: http://www.cafepress.com/bittenbybooks. I voted for Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, not only because the synopsis sounds great, but also because she did such a lovely job with her trailer. If authors wonder whether trailers help persuade people to buy books, for that particular book, that particular trailer, and this particular reader they do!

    1) Darkest Whisper

you just had to make this hard. This is one of those months where several of my favorite series have new releases. They are all on preorder at my local indie bookstore (which does not make Hubby happy since I have over 50 free books to read from RWA last month). When I got my freebies, I told him “You know this doesn’t mean I’m not getting Patty’s new book when it comes out so that is how I voted. I LOVE Anna, almost as much as I love Faythe.

I can’t wait for Blood Promise!! That is my main must have. But I also chose Unbound and Other- b/c I can’t wait for Dream fever, but I’ve timed it pretty good on that one so that I don’t have to wait too long between Fae Fever that I’m starting tonight and when Dreamfever comes out!!

    [Reply]

  37. Comment by Laura — August 11, 2009 @ 11:30 am

Are you kidding!? Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning! I can’t believe it’s not even listed as a choice!

Then, after that, Mead’s Blood Promise.

Adding my voice to the choir singing the virtues of the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, I am also really exicted about Dreamfever. My runner up would be another Rob Thurman’s Trixia of Light which has a soft release at the end of August.

So, I voted Other because I’m really looking forward to reading Jory Strong’s Spider Touched; the first book, Ghostland, was really unique and I can’t wait to see more of that world.

Blood Promise…..I really am curious to see who the Strigoi was.
Rose keeping her promise to Adrian is kind of hard since she lost Dimitri, so I am really curious to see how she ends up, if she returns to the academy or not, if there is a way to bring Dimitri back to being a Dhampire and if her love for Dimitri will over power her moral senses and she will decide to abandon everything she has learned in the academy and turn Strigoi to join Dimitri for a chance to love freely and live together forever.

I chose BLOOD PROMISE. OF COS, IT’S SO OBVIOUS WHO THE WINNER WILL BE! I would say, it’s the best series so far among the books I have read, none of them grip me like the one VA did. I finished reading Shadow Kiss for like 1 or 2 days? And for stupid breaking dawn, I have been reading it since like 3 months ago and now still have 300 pages left? Seriously, I can put my books down for other series, but definitely not for Richelle Mead’s books! Her books are amazing. It kept me on my edge of my seat! I wld definitely go grab Blood promise that day! It has to be out!
