The world as Adam Farelli knows it is not safe when beings from alternate worlds known as the Umbrae keep forming portals between his reality and theirs - especially since the purpose of these portals is to transform humans into monstrous creatures, like werewolves and demons, in order to gain control of Adam’s world. Carmichael’s job is to contain the Umbrae outbreaks and shut down the portals, taking out two-thirds of the population under Umbrae control in the process. The distraction Adam poses is sure to make Carmichael’s duties a little more difficult to perform if he can’t learn to accept his own sexual nature.
