It is my understanding that Crimson is the last of Jordan Summer’s Dead World series. This knowledge made me wait until the last minute to read this book; I didn’t want this story to end! Red was such an original take on the werewolf mythos that I instantly became a fan. The character of Gina “Red” Santiago was tough, driven, and melted only in the hands of Morgan Hunter, sheriff of the small town of Nuria. (more…)

Gina Santiago, nicknamed Red because of the amount of blood spilled when she’s around, is a member of the International Police Tactical Team, a team created to protect the various republics that exist in the former United States. It is the only entity that has rights in each republic to investigate murder–which is almost obsolete–or to take care of outsiders, the people who refuse to commit themselves to a specific republic.

The problem has grown to a point where a special facility was built to contain the cybercriminals, located in the old Alcatraz Island prison.
