Grrr – Will have to see the vlog later when I can get my headset out for my laptop. Kids overpower my desktop speakers with tv and their dad’s computer with his RAWR metal (I like metal but not that kind)

I have three of Alethea’s books. I got the Companion she did with Kenyon. I do believe my friend got it signed by her and Sherrilyn. I’ll have to check. I know its well loved.

Then to help my youngest I bought Alpha Oops: The Day Z Went First. He loves it. Took it to school for show and tell once.

    • Hooray! Thank you!

Hey, if any of you guys want more AlphaOops books, please write to the publisher — it’s been too many years, and they haven’t asked me to do any more! (Obviously because they are silly.) Their email is bigbear@candlewick.com.

      Royal Alethea Fans assemble! xox

Will have to do that. I try when someone I know has a children Kindergarden age and below to recommend the these books. Gabriel had so much fun with it.

    Well done!! :D

I’d be here all day naming all of the guys that I love from books now. So I’ll just name the ones that got me started.

Okay, so I think I love you or giving me a reason for bringing up the Lioness books for the third day in a row! I, too loved the books. And yes George was on the list for me too. Even though when I read the books, I felt so bad for Jonathan. Tamora Pierce had this way that she wrote her guys because I will not lie, I totally loved Niko and Numair from her other series.

And before my book crushes ventured into the darker realm of guys, I still had some straight Fantasy book ones. I don’t know if anyone has read Charles deLint, but there was this character in his Moonheart book named Blue. He made some appearances in others too. He was a biker , but sweet. In retrospect , this might have been the beginning of the bad boy thing. But anyway, loved him.

    • Hooray for the George Cooper fan club! (Jonathan was always just a little too pretty for my taste.)

Ooh…I feel like I’ve read Moonheart…I can see the cover in my head, but I can’t recall anything in it. Guess that means it’s been long enough and I can read it again now, right? :-)

    Hi, Alethea! Welcome to BBB!

You ask a hard question — I honestly can’t think of a first fictional love right off the top of my head. Of course, now it will be bugging me until I think of at least one… I’ll come back.

See you at Dragon*Con in three weeks, dear…

  5. For me that kind of depends on what the book in my hand is.

  6. If you were selected today for an outer space adventure, would you go?

  7. You woke up this morning and realized you had been reincarnated as a pair of shoes.
    Describe yourself.

  8. What books are on your nightstand or in your TBR pile right now?

    • I no longer keep books in my bedroom. I worked for a book wholesaler for almost a decade, and the sight of them began to stress me out. (Can you believe that?) My bedroom is only where I sleep. Or try to.

I finally finished Mastiff, and re-read Sharon Shinn’s Archangel. I need to pick something new to review for my IGMS column, but my mind’s too busy having anxiety attacks over Dragon*Con. And this new novel.

  9. Dovile P. says:

My first fictional love was Robin Hood:) No, really:)

  10. Dovile P. says:

What as your favorite childhood book or series?

    • There were honestly too many of them for me to have a favorite. By the time I was five, I was reading like there was no tomorrow–novels and everything. There were a ton of great ones, though, and as I think of them I try to post a review on Goodreads.

  11. Myra White says:

My first fictional love may have been Will from His Dark Materials trilogy. I thought he was wonderful. I’m sure there were others before him but I can’t remember them. :P

  12. What five characters from other authors would you NOT want to be trapped in an elevator with?

    • If I was trapped in an elevator with Dolores Umbridge, I would probably kill her.

If I was trapped in an elevator with FIVE such horrible people, I’d just wait for them to kill each other.

  13. YOU are a paranormal character, what is your super power?

    • I *am* a paranormal character, so I can answer this one easily enough!

I currently have the very lame powers of “contagious enthusiasm” and “creating a line of people as soon as I walk into a restaurant/store/post office.” I have a latent psychic ability that I inherited from my father (not always a blessing), and I’m still waiting for my power over gravity. BECAUSE THAT’S THE ONE I ACTUALLY WANT.

You never get the one you actually want.

  14. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

    • Right this minute? England. I miss the country and I miss my friends there. I was getting over there once a year, and now I haven’t been in…far too long.

But there are a lot of other places in the world I’d still like to go. The Azores, for instance.

  15. Heather Alexander says:

Why can’t I find links to RSVP to any of these events?

  16. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?

    • 1.) Wore a skirt to work for the first time when I was 29. I felt naked all day long.

2.) Flew to London to meet a boy I fell madly in love with on the Internet, also at 29. Turns out he was a narcissistic sociopath. Too bad it took me 3 years to figure that out. But I miss England.

  17. What three things do you need in order to write?

  18. If you could live in a literary world which would you choose (and yes you can say yours) and what your role there would be?

  19. Joani S says:

Hi there! I’ve just bought the book, really looking forward to reading it!! I listen to audiobooks all day long at work, so now you know that I love them. Do you listen to them often? As for my first fictional love, thats a little hard to pinpoint. One of my first romance books was Warrior’s Woman by Johanna Lindsey. The male love was Challen and I’ve thught of that book often, so I would have to say him. I also loved the short The Story of Son by Ward. I go back and read that when I need a quick pick me up! :)

    • I’m very picky about my audiobooks, but when I find one I love, I LOVE it. (Which makes me the perfect judge for the Audies — I’ve been doing that for almost 6 years now).

The first one I fell in love with was Like Water for Chocolate, that my best friend gave to me on cassette tape. I still have it. Another favorite is Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (it’s written to be read aloud). For kids, I love anything by Full Cast Audio. I also enjoyed Tim Curry doing the Lemony Snicket series. Daniel Handler was great…but Tim Curry was AMAZING.

This is why, when they asked me if *I* wanted to read Enchanted, I comsidered it…but I would have much rather have Katy — a seasoned, award-winning professional– read it. She was my dream Top #1 pick. AND SHE SAID YES!!!

  20. Congrats to Lisa A!!

You’re going to LOVE this audiobook. xox
