The Mage by Jean Johnson

*****

The Mage is the last installment in the Sons of Destiny series and the story of the youngest brother, Morganen, the strongest mage of the brothers. When he pulls Hope through the veil separating their worlds, Morganen and the rest of his family learn that Hope is really the last Duchess of Nightfall, Haupanea who disappeared two centuries earlier. Stunned, Morg must learn who the woman he fell in love with really is and decide if he can reconcile the woman she is with the woman she was. Meanwhile, plans continue to move forward for the restarting of the Desalinator and the Convocation of the Gods.

Jean has done an amazing job of keeping the excitement level in this book as high as any of the other books, making it an awesome read. I am sad to see the series end, but Jean has promised in an author’s note at the beginning of this book that there are more stories coming, some even set in other locations within this world.

The Mage is a must read! I’d give it more than two thumbs up but I only have the two hands. Go forth and read!
