Rogue Everlasting by Lisa Phillips
Reece Clairmont, an eternal playboy, enjoyed his life as a successful club owner, where mortals and eternals mingled freely. He drove expensive sports cars, wore the best clothes, and had women falling all over themselves in order to meet him. Reece was satisfied with his life, but the recent trouble within the Realm had thrown him off his schedule, and seeing how happy his cousins Simon and Tristan were with their mates had him feeling a bit discontented.
Sidney had given up a promising career as a doctor when she was turned in order to save her life. Being a descendent of Tristan’s, she was more than welcome in the faction, though she felt unsettled and useless. Her fighting skills were limited, and her medical skills were only needed in the height of battle. Her growing attraction to Reece was something she desperately tried to hide behind a wall of sarcasm, though everyone but Reece was well aware of it. With the trouble within the Realm somewhat quieted down, Sidney had more time to think about her situation…and Reece.
Sidney was used to being alone in her previous life, and I liked seeing her adjust to living in a house full of people after she became an eternal. She tried to keep her attraction to Reece hidden, but eventually it had to come out. Reece’s playboy exterior was an excellent cover-up for his deeper feelings, which were shown by his restoration of his childhood home and his willingness to take in a ward, a young girl who had been turned and abandoned by her maker. This was an excellent story that perfectly ended the Everlasting trilogy, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
