In the first book of the series, Lexi has lost her soul mate, Matt. Fearing that she won’t recover from the grief, her parents send her to Italy for a summer course. Her interest in life is somewhat renewed when she meets Tyler. As their relationship progresses, she learns that Tyler is a vampire, and after an accidental bite, their souls become imprinted. There are many complications, one of which is that Matt returns to her life—also as a vampire!
Lexi is now living away from her parents with vampires as housemates and far away from Tyler. Tyler broke the imprint of their souls by attacking a human, Matt has been sent back to his Master (a jealous female), and Lexi is feeling more lost and alone than ever before.
Although she is living in a house full of vampires, Lexi feels surprisingly safe. Nicholas has taken the role as her protector, and things are calm until Matt shows up at the door. Lexi no longer feels the bond she once had with him, but memories of love are sweet until he tries to turn her into a vampire. Lexi also comes to realize that she is a pawn in a game of revenge. Anne, a fallen angel and vampire, has a score to settle with Loren, Tyler’s Master, and she intends to use Lexi to do it. Anne believes that Lexi is the reincarnation of Lydia, Loren’s soul mate. Lexi is in the middle of vampire games and plots and doesn’t realize it until it’s too late and she may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save both Tyler and Matt.
Bloodlust is the second book in the series. Lexi is drawn further and further into the vampire world and its mysteries, ancient hatreds and decadence. Bloodlust sets a faster pace than the first book as the reader is beginning to understand that there is more at play than a young woman’s love affair. Lexi is left in a perilous situation at the end of the book, setting the stage for the lifting of the veil of secrets.
