Mark Tavery is a dragon specialist for Searchlight. While on an investigation, Mark finds a genie’s lamp. When Mark rubs the lamp, out pops Luke, the most attractive man that he has ever seen. There is an immediate attraction between them, but Mark fights this attraction because of his past abusive relationship. Luke wants to give his Master Mark his heart’s desire. Luke also wants to give himself to his new Master.

There is something killing magical beings along the coast of Florida, and Mark is determined to find out who it is and why. He hopes to talk them into going to Searchlight and getting the free manmade blood that will nourish and help them to survive. Mark is pretty sure that it’s a dragon killing these creatures.

Luke wants to help his Master find the dragon and help Mark get past his fear of trusting and allowing someone to get close to him. Luke knows that someone is stalking Mark and he does everything in his power to find out who it is and to stop them from hurting his Master. Luke is very gentle and caring with his Master because he knows that he has been traumatized in the past and that the only way to Mark’s heart’s desire is to face his fears and learn to trust so that he can love again.

Mark is fascinated with all things dragon. He has studied them for many years. He doesn’t want Luke helping him to find the dragon because he is afraid of Luke becoming Dragon Food. Mark knows that Luke is afraid of something but keeps trying to hide it. He tries to get close to Luke, but every time he does. his past comes back to haunt him. Will Mark and Luke learn to trust each other in time to save each other physically, mentally, and emotionally?

Emily Carrington is an amazing author. M/M is not my typical reading, but once I started reading this incredible story, I just couldn’t stop. Emily’s characters are so real in what they have gone through in their lives to make them the men they are today. This might be a fantasy book, but the storyline could fit into many of our own lives. Dragon Food is an incredible story of trust, betrayal, fear, abuse, secrets, of feeling unworthy of anyone’s affections let alone to be loved and to give love in return. There are many turns and twists in this story. I can’t wait to read Book 2 Dragon Fire and Book 3 Dragon’s Bane!
