Bite Me by Tracey Fischer

Bite Me opens with Kyra Burke munching chips in her tiny Paris apartment and trying to write her latest article, a snarky take on all things popular and cool. With a knock on the door, Kyra is snatched up in a whirlwind of adventure and romance.
Léon, the door-knocker, is a new breed of human-turned-vampire who insists Kyra is also of the higher order, and that they have been lovers for centuries. He whisks Kyra away from more vampires to hide in a church, where their hot and heavy reunion is interrupted by dark angels, Rebecca and Lucien. They run from place to place, with Kyra picking up half-understood bits of information about her past and a choice she must make if she wants to stay with Léon forever.
Bite Me has good bone structure, but not enough meat on those bones – too much going on in too few pages. Main plot points are oh, so promising, as well as details that could be spun out into a delicious back story, but all are seen from the carriage window as we fly past. I am sending Bite Me two and a half tombstones and a sincere wish to see this fleshed out into a full-length novel. There are so many things left unanswered.
