Noble Heart by Linda J. Parisi
Noble Heart is the second book in Linda J. Parisi’s Nobility Series. The second book focuses on Alexi Valentin, the brother of Nicholai who was featured in the first book. Alexi is a magician in Las Vegas and a member of the Nobility, a secret race that gets their power from the sun. He is performing a show when he meets Elena Kyrinova who has come from Alberta, Canada to ask him about giving her a child. She comes from a race of healers who aren’t Noble- born, but are not human, either.
When Alexi’s brother Nicholai is put into a coma by the Ancient, his wife and newborn girl are taken to New Jersey. Alexi must take over as head of the house and find a way to unite all of the Noble houses to face the Ancient if they have any chance of not being wiped out. Along the way Alexi finds he has strong feelings for the healer, Elena. Alexi also struggles to come to terms with being the head of the Valentin house when he has shirked that responsibility all of his life.
You want to root for Alexi and Elena throughout the story, and the Ancient is as good a villain as you will get in paranormal romance novel. I do not like the fact though the main characters from the first book are relegated to less than supporting characters. If you liked Noble Blood then I can say you will enjoy the sequel, Noble Heart.
