Betty Morgana, born in 1000, lived to the young age of sixteen. She was celebrating her sixteenth birthday when her town was invaded by elves. Her family was murdered, but she was able to escape. She ran off into the woods where she was knocked unconscious. She awoke, screaming about revenge on her family’s killers, to find Lord Drago by her side. She pleaded for the strength and power to avenge their deaths. Drago explained he was the King of the Vampire Realm. He offered her power like no other then he killed her, turning her immortal.

The next 1000 years, she followed Drago who taught her how to live as a vampire. She hunted, fed, and killed innocent. She loved her new powers. Once her revenge was successful, she couldn’t stop. As they battled with a new era of elves, she began to tire. She was ordered to find Princess Phoenix, a 14-year-old elf, and kill her. The mission would not be complete until the last family member was destroyed.

Morgana decided that this was the end of her revenge against elves. She saved the Princess, but the deceit drove Drago mad. He ordered her to spend eternity in a buried nailed coffin.

Three years later, she was discovered and rescued by two elves who remembered the way she saved the Princess. Once her strength was regained, she started on her journey to destroy her father – Lord Drago.

Crystal Temple’s Betty Morgana: Through the Ages has a complex plot that is difficult to follow. The main character spends a lot of time battling and teleporting back and forth making the story confusing. The conflict, once understandable, is easy to follow but falters two thirds of the way and unravels without resolve.
